A Strategy Guide for 2-7 Triple Draw Poker
Very often players new to 2-7 Triple Draw Poker find themselves surprised at the complexities of the game. The reason it appears as such is that they rely too much on the luck of the draw; by focusing on strategies instead, you will be able to make headway.
As in most other Poker games, your 2-7 Triple Draw Poker strategy rests on the starting hands. However, your position on the table and your playing style can also have a huge effect on the game. These are factors that are not usually considered in most 2-7 Triple Draw tactics, and which often leads to losses.
Being a lo hand game, the best combination that you can get is 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7. and the second best hand is 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7. Of course if you get these hands, you will no longer need to draw, which is always good.
However, even if you do not get this hand, if you obtain something close to this, then standing pat is a good 2-7 Triple Draw Poker strategy. It will make your opponents think heavily about your hand.
Ideally, it would be best if your hand includes a 2 and a 7 as the highest. An 8 high can also work, but there are risks with a 2-7 Triple Draw Poker strategy that has an 8. Remember that there are three draws, and chances are high that your opponents will get a 7. If you want to stick with an 8, then you should raise and re raise; make the cost of drawing a 7 as high as you can.
With four lows and a 7, this should be good enough for a raise prior to a draw. If you play this right, a lot of players will fold. Try to give the impression that you have the good hand, so that they will fold. It is a good hand, though, so if they call and raise, the better for you.
A common mistake that new players make is aiming for or playing low straight (i.e. 4-7) Although it may look good, the fact is that it severely limits your draws; the only card you can get to make a hand is 2, because a 3 will give a you a straight, a bad hand in 2-7 Triple Draw. The same can be said with a low straight that has an 8.
It is much better to have low numbers with gaps (like 2,4, 6 etc) as this will give your 2-7 Triple Draw Poker strategy more room and leeway in the draws.
2-7 Triple Draw Poker is a game that requires more than luck to win; it necessitates the development of good strategies. With that in mind, you will be able to able to increase your edge over the other players on the table.
